Meaning
A suffix indicating that a surface is entirely covered with dirt or liquid. Describes an undesirable substance clinging all over. Attaches to nouns.
Examples
- 子どもたちは泥まみれになって遊んでいた。 The children were playing covered in mud.
- 額を汗まみれにしながら、彼は荷物を運び続けた。 With his forehead dripping with sweat, he kept carrying the luggage.
