Meaning

Expresses strong will or inevitability: one will surely do it, or one cannot help but naturally provoke such a feeling or state. 「おかない」 is written 「置かない」.

Examples

1. この理不尽な仕打ちには、断固抗議せずにはおかない。 I will not let this unreasonable treatment go without a firm protest.
2. 彼の名演は、観客を感動させずには置かなかった。 His masterful performance never failed to move the audience.
